Hello I am an artist in San Diego. I bought my airstream about two years ago, and have been using the site as a means of incredible information. I am only now finally saying something, as I am only now starting to feel like I understand a little more about airstreams.
I have put a lot of hours into the restoration of my airstream, without knowing much about what I was getting into. I did know more than the guy who had previously done work on it, so fixing his repairs made the project a much larger one than I anticipated.
Despite all of the adventures I have had trying to restore and store my trailer in southern california, I have never had a moment where I thought that I should get rid of it. It has become a very important part of my life, and I plan to make it really great, it has become my art project of sorts.

I love reading all of the postings on this site, and I love to see the stoke of everyone who has an airstream.

Thanks a lot,
Dougie Mann

Welcome Dougie!

Glad you decided to "join" and not just lurk! Post some pics of your project and your GT, we love pictures here!

Check out the rally calendar, it is beginning to be rally season and there are some good ones down your way! Going to a rally and talking with fellow Airstreamers is a great way to see what others have done and "talk 'streams"!

Again, Welcome!

Welcome! I think you'll find a lot of us ran into this situation during restoration. Glad you're here and please post some pictures of your Globetrotter!
