Question '61 Trade Wind

Hi everybody,

just wanted to introduce ourselves. We have been proud owners of a 1961 Trade Wind for almost 2 months now. So, please excuse us if we don't know the "technical terms" yet... This may sound silly to you, but we are not so sure that our AS is in fact a Trade Wind. Even the seller (bought it on ebay) wasn't sure about it.
I compared our AS to the '61 Trade Wind here.
And although our AS was also assembled in Santa Fe Springs, it has an additional window next to the door (on the right; like the '62 model in the online archive) and three windows on the other side. Now, can anybody tell me for sure if it is a Tradewind? Why are there so many variations?

Thanks for your help!

Hi and welcome to the forums.

I'm sure if you provide a serial number one of the fine forum folks will be able to determine exactly what you have.

Hi DiMi, welcome to the forums! Could you post the serial number of your trailer?

what does the interior look like? my trade wind has a single bed mid-ship with loads of cabinet space on the door side. you could always measure it. in 1964, the safari was 22 feet, the trade wind was 24 and the overlander was 26. the overlander has 2 more windows mid ship as well.

nice trailer, though! (of course, i'm biased!)

That sounds more like a '62 Tradewind - check out the serial number decoder here.

Thanks for the help.
The interior doesn't look to good. I can't even tell you for sure what used to be on the door side. It could have been a dinette or twin bed (bed seems to be more realistic). On the opposite side we have loads of cabinet space, although the furniture needs repair: water damage. But the bath is in good condition. Unfortunately, the toilet is gone.
