2019 Globetrotter
Hi all,
We are very excited to be taking delivery of a brand new 2019 Globetrotter 27FBQ in a couple of weeks. Looking forward to getting out there and doing some camping this year!

Hello from a fellow Coloradan: Wow, the Globetrotter is some kind of travel trailer! I saw one about a year ago that was parked next to us in Albuquerque. We got a cook's tour. You mentioned "camping", in your Globetrotter it will be called "glamping", glamorus traveling.
My son has a 1969 Globetrotter 21'. See photo. It was the first year of the new body style. Let's see, it is only 50 years older than your Globetrotter. Airstreams last a very long time. Airstream used the Globetrotter name for many, many years. I'm glad to see it used again.
Welcome to the Airstream community. Consider joining the Colorado Airstream Club. It's a good way to meet other owners.

Wow, how cool is that '69 Globetrotter!? We actually considered a vintage trailer but liked too many of the newer features. That and I always have too many projects going on.
I actually hesitated to call it "camping" especially because this is what we have been camping in for the last several years. It's an off-road trailer that I built to follow our Jeep.
Cheers

It's me again. I wanted to say that modern Airstreams are built so much better than the old ones. I've done extensive work to the son's 69, my old 66 Trade Wind 24', my current project 75 Overlander 27', and my wife's 86 Limited 34'. I'm an Air Forums volunteer inspector, so I get to see a late model Airstream every now and then. Wow, what a difference. Better exterior skins, better entry steps, better subfloor, better cabinetry, better plumbing, better lighting, better heating and cooling, better electrics, better soft goods, better door locks, etc, etc.
Here is a photo of a nice 64 Globetrotter 20' (I think) from the vintage rally last summer. It's fun to see the old Airstreams at these rallys. The new ones are just so much better in my view.
I think you folks have made a serious upgrade over your old Jeep trailer shown above.

We picked up the unit earlier this week. Now comes the excruciating wait for the weather to get nice enough to go on some weekend trips...

It looks so very nice. Hey, I have a Airstream friend in Minnesota who recently dug out his trailer and pulled it to Texas between snowstorms. He is now enjoying 60 degree days and seeing snowbird friends down south. I don't have the guts to pull on slick roads. I guess I miss out. We'll go late April.
