1967 Streamline Empress

I am now the third owner of this 29' Streamline Empress! After owning popup campers for the past 19 years, we were pushed over the edge last month when my wife and I and our two kids and our 140 lbs. dog spent a week in Charleston, SC. in the 10' box popup. We can't wait to get the Empress on the road this summer and head West. Look forward to joining the community.

Thanks in advance,
Will

All kinds of Streamline showing up lately. WELCOME!!

Hope to see more, and hope you'll take advantage of the depth of knowledge around here, from the simple to the complex.

The condition sure appears to be nice. That's a TT I'd enjoy having as it is what my grandparents travelled the US, Canada and Mexico with -- same year and size, IIRC-- way back when.

We will cross the divide, but barely. We will mostly be in Colorado. I haven't quite mapped it out yet.

So after getting new bearings and tires along with running down brake light glickes, I decided to spend some time on something purely cosmetic. I freshened up the streamline nameplate. These pictures were taken about 10 minutes after hand painting. Very glad I used oil based paint since the rain came about 5 hours earlier than expected.

I finally got around to taking my empress and sequoia to the scales. Weighing down on the streamline's tongue were the spare tire, battery, and dual propane tanks. The sequoia was loaded with a half tank of gas 100lbs.+ of cargo in the back and the camco wd hitch with 1000 # spring bars with a swaybar. The trailer shop set me out with the wd bars on the 2nd link from the end. I'm trailering on the 4th link now. BTW, I was not being weighed with my truck.

Here are my results...

Steer axle 3160(gawr), 2440 (w/o tt), 2320 (2nd link), 2380 (3rd link), 2520 (4th link)

Rear axle 3550(gawr), 27000 (w/o tt), 3520 (2nd link), 3340 (3rd link), 3160 (4th link)

Trailer axle ?(gawr), 4660(+800 tongue) (actual), 4820 (2nd link), 4880 (3rd link), 4920 (4th link)

Gross weight 6500(gvwr), 5140(tv actual)+5460(tt actual)=10600 (gross)

Packed and weighed. And we are on the road. For the final adjustments I added 10 psi to tv tires, to 80, and one more 1/4 turn adjustment to the swaybar and what a difference those made. Made it to lake dardanelle state park in Arkansas.

That looks awesome! It's great to see a Streamline in that condition out camping like it should be. We don't see many Streamlines out on the road. Hope you are having good trip. Can you post some interior pics?

Have not polished the outside. It just photographs well. I'll post some interior shots in a couple of days. And yes I'm having a great time in it.

Somehow I missed this, but love your Empress! We just had our Countess out to Yellowstone and the Tetons and had a blast.

I love your interior, did you do anything to the doors? Ours are a more whitewashed wood, but then we have a '66 so something must have changed.

Thanks. The previous owner remade the doors and put a high gloss finish on them. I'm not a fan and I will be remaking them, but they do work. There are a few other things higher on the to do list. Most everything else is original.

Just found this thread. Looks like a nice Streamline you have! Glad to see another Memphis member here! We are still restoring our Caravel. We've been working on it two years now. Hope to get it usable by spring. Hope to see you around town sometime.

Cool trailer!
What would be more cool?
