1954 Airstream Flying Cloud

Hello, My wife and are newcomers to the Airstream community. We own a house in New Mexico that was built in 1954 and just bought an 1954 Airstream Flying Cloud to use as a guest cottage out back. The skin is in great shape with mostly everything being original, However the interior is in need of some major work. I need to know where to get an original manual or instruction book if there is such a thing. I am handy but don't want to do anything til I know how things should work. Thank you for any advice.

Welcome to the forums! As a former resident of the land of enchantment, I am envious of your location and as an airstream enthuasist of your coach! Post some images of it when you get a chance, we love to see everybodys airstream. Let us know if you are unsure how to go about this.

Welcome! There are legions of Flying Cloud owners here... having had a couple of '53 FCs in my yard last summer, I can tell you that everything in them (except the 12v wiring) is bonehead simple and (relatively) easy to get to and repair or replace. They were built during a much simpler time using mostly apartment-sized appliances and standard plumbing fixtures.

There weren't any manuals for Airstreams until the early '70s.

Welcome, Baxscott, My wife and I recently bought a 1955 Flying Cloud. It a California model. Ours is a good shell with some damage and almost no interior. http://vintageairstream.com/archives1/54FC/index.html Try this site for pictures etc. of Flying Clouds.
