02 30’ classic s/o headliners

Hello sliders, im stock deciding if , the head liners would be removed due to constant sagging. Re glueing is no longer a choice. If the community have experience, that would help. What does it look like without those fancy panels. Thanks

AlumaSlider I - 2019

Our first AlumaSlider Get Together was in 2019 at Stone Mountain State Park in NC. Beautiful place we've been there multiple times since and the park loops are pretty close together.

Here's a photo from the first loop with 4 S/O's side by side. Pretty neat to see 4 S/O's when you first pulled into the park. If I remember correctly we had 8 S/O's at the first.

Amy & John - Slide-Out the red carpets and welcome aboard! So nice to have you folks join our little band of Sliders! You guys certainly have the corner on the Slide's in that neighborhood. Almost makes them common...lol

Thanks for the pictures! You've got a beautiful rig there in perfect condition. It's beautiful. It's so nice to see how well the Slides are kept up.

Being the keeper of the lists so to speak we've added you guys right into that next slot.

So glad that you guys have found us and are part of our merry little Sliding group! There's still room on our lists for more Sliders(nudge, nudge)!

nwdave,

My Father-in-law fixed his using some trim strips and plastic rosette washers. He said total cost for materials was less than $10. It looks fine and has lasted for years now. Below is a link to the thread where he posted his fix. His username is Ken10.

Best of luck,

Haven't had success with my jumpy slideout. Lubed the gears and tracks, they were a little rusty but look a lot better now. My suspicion is a dying motor. Took a video with access panel open here. What do you think?

What does it look like without those fancy panels?
The attached pic shows what the aluminum will look like when the material is removed. Getting the old glue off is the challenge for either a shiny or textured swirl finish (be prepared for hours of work without success) or a lump free subsurface to re-apply a new covering material.

I sanded the old discolored glue off with an orbital sander and used contact cement to adhere the new ultra leather.

I'm assuming you bought the slide out used. My dealer drilled it into my head never extend the slide without the jack stands down. Never retract the jack stands prior to pulling the slide in. There is a lot of torque on that frame by that slide. I was told that retracting or extending the slide can cause problems with the slide unit. Never forgot that lesson. My slide is 20 years old and the slide continues to perform flawlessly. I never lubed the slide gears, but my trailer is stored in an insulated garage which also has humidity control so that minimizes deterioration of the components.

Slide-out to November Vintage Rally at The Range

Just giving all our slide-out friends a heads-up that we have scheduled a Slide-Out + Vintage Airstream rally at The Range in Ennis, TX. If you have never been to the Range, it is a real treat. Dates are November 8-10th, and the website address is [URL="http://therangevtr.com"] . You can reserve now but the rally goes live tomorrow.
