Slide Out Society Owners Registry

Wow we've almost hit possibly 1/4 of the precisely unknown number of slides ever built registered.

Nicely done. Now if you see a member slide candidate send them this thread and invite them. That gets you the coveted recruiting status.

Folks actually posting this from a state park around my campfire on the shore of a lake and a pot of perked coffee. With my best half, Linda.

Where's the bacon?

Life is darn good.

Twinkie06,

Yes there is a good thread on adjustments. I'm on a phone right now searching is a bit more difficult. if you search for slide adjustment I think you'll find it.

Here is an older thread on slide adjustment that Vinnie started. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f252...sic-47113.html

Bob,

I guess that makes you S/OS#021 and a 34 too boot.

These are going to be some interesting statistics when I put together what we have and by state where we are.

Happy Friday

Power Glide Instructions

I got these from PowerGear. They are generic, so use them as a guide, but maybe they can help you, or others.

When I bought my trailer the top front corner of the slide was contacting the molding around the opening in the trailer, apparently banging while driving down the road to the extent that the slide skin is cracked at the fold. I "brute forced" the alignment before I found these using Vinnie's instructions. My slide is now even all the way around when closed, but hits at the bottom first and then pulls in and up to contact the top seal. I think I am going to try to get a more even close by starting with these instructions and deviating where necessary. I did check the rail extension and they were both the same.

Al,

I'll review this weekend. Thanks for adding.

Maybe add to the slide adj thread as additional info too.

I'm still investigating the "D" seal material on the outside of the slide and inner seal too. Thus is not the wiper seal. Details later.

Gary,

Do you have the parts manual? I thought it had the part number. I have the manufacturer's pn for the wiper seal. I'll find that data and you can peruse their catalog for the "D" seal.

Al,

Yes I do have the parts manual and IIRC I found that I can get a 100' roll for about less than I can get a single slides exterior d seal. Did that make sense? Details at home, i'll share later.

I have an interesting question regarding my 2002 S/O Classic 30'. My wife has been ill for 6 months and I have been parked at a KOA in Meridian, Idaho since June. Since our home is over an hour away, I have been full timing in our AS. I have winterized the water lines to the faucet but am worried about the amount of time the slide has been out and the awning material. Now it has snowed some, a few inches and wondering about that too. Has anyone ever had long term or winter experience with a slide?

No doubt a slide extended over a long period of time will expose the awning to more uv and the gaskets to the open air and uv. I would always advise to close a slide when the trailer isn't being actively used.
