Rust

I have a new to me 2008 30' Classic limited. There is a good bit of rust in the area where the steps fold up into. Additionally there is a good bit of rust along both outside edges of the rear skid frame. I have already treated that and have a plan for the step area.

Is this common?

FYI i have scraped off the rust, cleaned the area and have painted and will paint with POR 15. Interested in comments from those who have experienced this. Any other fixes also appreciated.

My 1986 has similar issues. I would say it is common for certain geographic areas or /locations. I have used Por15 before, but this time I went with primer/paint/undercoat.

I also has some problems inside the fenders; the thin metal doesn't help.

I am sure you will receive other methods posted on this forum.
