2007 Classic 27FB - Tank sizes inconsistent on AS literature

We have our 2007 27FB Airstream Classic Limited listed for sale. I've shared the specs I pulled up from online re the trailer with interested buyers (see attached). One of the buyers noted that it showed that the 27' had the smaller water size (even smaller than the 25'). So, I pulled out our owner's manual (also attached) and it has completely different information. I am going to assume the information on the owner's manual is correct. I will call the Mother Ship in the morning to confirm as I don't want to tell the potential buyer it is a 54 gallon fresh water tank instead of 39 without confirming. Anyone else ever caught this? Thanks!

I'm betting it is 39gal. Factory could confirm but it probably is just a typo in the owners manual. I have not found Airstream specs to be uniform or accurate in many cases so it isn't surprising. The tank basically fits in the same spot on both the 25 and 27 front bedroom models. It is probably the same tank they used in the Safari and International lines. The other 25 listed is a different floorplan.

Let us know what you find out though. If a 54 gallon tank fits in yours, I might have a new upgrade idea for my trailer!

Thank you! I love my airstream - and how can anyone complain when you have a 13 year old trailer that still looks and functions great. But, the Airstream manuals...Let's just say, they are not very informative (and maybe not always accurate?) Thank goodness for these forums and the AS community.
I will let you know what they say!

Not sure about the those models, but my 30' takes an awful lot of water. I put in 6 jugs of water (6 US gallons) when it was down to a 1/4 it it still wasn't full.

I would not rely on your Airstream Manuals. Quit often they are hold overs from a previous year. For example: there is no 2006 parts manual, but there is a 2005 Manual that covers "Most" everything. The best way to check tank capacity is to fill it from empty to overflow with a water flow meter attached. They don't cost much. That may save you from thinking you need to upgrade it's size.

dang it! I was hoping there was some secret space hiding in there that I could utilize to get more freshwater capacity ;-)

Glad you got a firm answer though!

Now I have the same question about our 2009 25FB Classic. That in the manual and the sales brochure that tank sizes are as follows. Fresh 59 USG, Black 39 USG, Gray 37USG. Are these true and correct??? 523575 last 6 of VIN. Thanks

Well fresh is easily measured. Just use a jug to fill it. Grey and black might be harder. But I think grey can be measured by filling the tank to full and draining it into a measured container. You can do the same with the black if you're brave enough[emoji23]

Hi There! - I went to the Airstream website and emailed my question directly to them. Corey responded and I copied/pasted his response into the thread. I think you may need to reach out directly to Airstream to get a response.
Good luck!
