Solardome Skylight

Has anyone had luck replacing the skylight with some aftermarket piece? I see many for sale in similar but not exact sizes. Considering a flat tinted lexan plate, as the 150 for a replacement is a little much.

Solardome and Astrodomes are available for the older trailers, that have a "thermal barrier" which is a sealed space between the dome and inside flat surface.

The sizes are 14 x 14 inch for the solardome and 14 x 26 for the astrodome, both in milk white and solar gray.

Hi this may be of some help, my skylight had wayer in it i found that the top was cracked where screws were installed with to much pressure. Bought a skylight from lowes $98 used a skill saw to cut the roof mount flange off and it worked great. Measure twice cut once of course. Whear eye protection. The home skylights have a meatle alum. Frame fits over the existing curb like it was meant for it.

I plan to try to repair mine with auto body fiberglass. It is translucent, strong and can be molded to replace the pieces of mine which have broken off over time. It is also cheap!

The only problem with fiberglass vent covers is that they let in only "brown" light.

New type covers let in white light , and better yet, the solar gray covers let in a soft light, , and then there are covers that have a thermal barrier built in, which limits the "heat" and "cold" exchange with the outside.
