Seeking my grandpa's 26' overlander with bunk bed

Hi all,
I am seeking my grandfather's 1965 Airstream Overlander - last known location Rockford, IL. My grandpa sold it before he died to a Rex Stageman in Rockford, Illinois from his home in Beloit, WI. Rex traded it in to a boat dealership according to my grandma.

We didn't know he was selling it, and would like to have it back in the family! It has been a 10 year search thus far but I am not giving up. I have the VIN number but it's an old trailer VIN so computer VIN searches don't work because it's a different amount of digits than modern VINs.

If you have a 26' Airstream Overlander with the full bed in the back and bunk bed, I would be forever grateful if you could check your VIN! That bunkbed was installed for me when I was 4 years old, and I spent many vacations up in that bed reading my little books when it was raining. Thanks to all who have already tried to assist. The hunt continues:

Your posted serial number, is not correct.

Something is missing in it.

After the 5 there should be 3 numbers.

26 = length
65 = model year
39 = sequential production model
