Still searching high and low for my first stream! Looking at a 69 overlander tomm. The exterior is fabulous and everything currently works but interior is rough. Howevery wife says two twins is fourtys and would want a rear queen if we purchase it. To accomplish this would I have to tear out a perfectly good floor? Interior skin? Or even entire body? WOMEN sigh!!
I don't think so. I believe all the "furniture". will easily unscrew from the floor and walls. It's just a matter of carpentry skills to design and install what you want.

I don't think that year and model came with rear beds, just mid-twins or double. To get a rear queen, you'd have to move the bathroom to mid-trailer. Not impossible, but a lot of work. You might want to shop for a trailer that is already set up from the factory with a rear-twin or queen setup.

You can check out the Vintage Airstream Photo Archives and look at photos and floor plans... it might help you decide what to look for!
I would suggest you look for something where you don't have to move the bathroom, etc. it not only will be a LOT of work, but quite a bit more expensive.
There are some smaller trailers (25') with rear bedrooms but they are rare.
70s Sovereign 31' rear bedroom model is a nice find if you can locate one. They tend to bring a higher price as well.
I agree with the others. Changing the config would be a major hassle. I say wait and find one with a floor plan that you like. It is difficult for sure to wait but I am glad I did; finally found the right one--and at the right price!
Good luck!
