Overlander : Have u moved your table?
Ou r dinette table mounts right inside the trailer near the door. It slides in along the gaucho. When unfolded and the leaf is in, it is kinda tight to slide in behind it on the gaucho.
It could easily be moved across to the street side, but not sure how much difference that would make. Seems a screwy design, but it is in great shape so I don't want to replace it.
Anyone moved theirs?

see it on the curb side? I guess moving it would not be as easy as I thought now looking at the shelf above it. It curves the wrong direction.

Alan, What I did is modify the table ( made it narrower ) so when it is out it doesn't intrude into the doorway. It is still wide enough to fit 4 people around it, but it can be opened and not be in the way. I built a cushion back on the other side and have two short stools to turn the coucho into an "L" shaped couch. I'll send pics soon, but we like the way it works.

AlanSD, I have the same thought as you. I don't care for the fold up table in front of the door. The 66 Trade Wind has the same table arrangement as your Overlander. My 86 has a fold up table on the street side. The tables mount under the shelf. I think a little shelf like that on the street side would be fine. I think folding chairs are necessary to best utilize the table for a little dinner. Sitting on the edge of the gaucho isn't the most comfortable.
It won't be too long before I can answer yes to your thread question.

Looking at your table Alan, I remember how big it was. I may have taken off about 8". The reason we did not move it to the other side ( besides loosing any possibility of other seating ), we did not want to loose the use of the fold up table behind the cook top.

Kayakampers... I like your modification of the flip up table. Yes, my 66 has a pretty big table and when I get seating room between the gaucho and the table, I'm half way into the door way. I also need the flip up counter space extender on the street side.
And your little stools are cool! They work as foot rests, and they work for seating on the opposite side of the table.
Clever thinking.

Thanks David, the stools are very useful. They have great storage, they make great foot stools when relaxing and I usually use one at the table on the door side. When positioned right ( out from the wall ) they are pretty comfortable with the back rest. We made the back rest a little wider so you can spread them out a little. With the counter extension down, two adults can sit side by side comfortably...as long as they are friends.
Chris

I have the same table in my 65 overlander , the leaf is stored next to the table, is that where it's supposed to go? It's just slid in next to it. This has always bugged me, just doesn't seem right! Thanks, Brian

The table leaf just sits behind the folded down table on my 66 Trade Wind. I'll try to remember a photo or two this weekend.

The leaf in our '66 does fit behind the table when it is down. On ours, there are two clips on the wall that the leaf tabs fit into so it is secure. Does your leaf and wall have those?

I'm not sure Alan, but it may have only been available on the International models. I said "fold up" table, but I am talking about the drop leaf that, when up is an extension of the counter top behind the three burner cook top. A collapsible hinge and it folds down in front the the cabinet doors under the cook top in the living area.

Here is a photo of the countertop extension that folds down when not in use. It might get in the way of another folding table on the street side. The extension is folded down in this view. You can imagine the arc of the counter as it swings up. It is in front of the window. I'll take more photos of my curb side folding table this weekend.
You folks might invent a handier way to make a "breakfast nook" out of my front gaucho.

Can I get a pic of the stowed dining table leaf? My extra leaf is currently between the gaucho & table, this can't be right?!

Not yet Alan, Probably next year.....I am waiting for Rob's help . Actually, I want to help him on their Safari and I can get an idea what is needed. I am going to need them done eventually though, but they are OK for now. Everything rides well.

I will try to get one to you later today Cochese. It is raining a lot here now, but later when it lets up. I have the table out and can get a couple of good shots of the leaf and the brackets.
