Our "New" 1967 Overlander International (mostly original) with pics! (& a few ?s)

This forum has been such a huge help in purchasing our Overlander and hopefully, getting it ready to hit the road soon!

Finally got some pictures of it, now that's it's back at our house (we had to park it elsewhere until I got the Argosy ready to sell).

It's mostly original and I'm loving all the little details, mahogany cabinets, brass hardware, and turquoise stove I feel as if I've spent hours just poking around and exploring it.

The bathroom sink/cabinets were removed to repair the floor, a new toilet was purchased by the p/o and it's all mostly there to put back together. Plumbing replaced with pex and supposedly new gas lines/tanks. No batteries or battery hatch door.

So far I've ordered new tires (BFGoodrich Commercial T/A), new 16" wheels (dexstar steel black), centramatics (200-221SPECIAL), brake controller (Tekonsha P3), water-saving showerhead, LED bulbs, outlet power monitor, 12v voltage/amps montitor, CO detector, suburban NT-30 furnace from craigslist, latex mattress topper, drinking water hose, snap-on extended towing mirrors for the Tundra, and a few other odds and ends.

Still need batteries/door, new hitch, hopefully new axles at some point (haven't checked if it needs them yet, but assuming it does), 2-way refrigerator (a p/o has a household one in there, though it does work), LP alarm, some por15 for tongue/bumper, two replacement cabinet latches, and whatever is needed to get the bathroom back in and the new items I ordered, installed...and I'm sure that list will continue to grow

Some questions I haven't immediately found answers to yet, though no pressure, as I'll be doing lots more searching on the forum ;-)

-What kind of awning is this, and how the heck does it work?
-Can I get a battery hatch door somewhere, do I make one?
-Any ideas on replacing/repairing the busted bathroom sink? (I've seen suggestions for repairing cracks, but this is pretty bad)
-It still has the univolt...can I get by with that and some Costco batteries for the time being (or whatever fits in there)? ..Later, I'd love to get some solar, so I don't want to put much into a converter/nice batteries now until we know what we want to do later.
-Two of my floor cabinet latches are broken. From searching, I see there are replacement plastic ones. Mine are metal...will the plastic ones work for me? (I only need two, but like the metal ones I already have everywhere)
-Lastly, how/where do people install LP monitors in these older models? I'm assuming it needs to be hard-wired
-I'll be looking for a bunk bed at some point (we have 4 young kids)...the hardware is there, so if anyone has one to tell we definitely might be interested!

Thanks for all the help thus far

Kitchen

Everything seems to work...
Counters in excellent shape. Both sink covers there, but doing a little repair on one of them. The cooktop seems great but I'll need to figure out what to do about a lot of cosmetic rust (on stove and cover)

There are two broken lower cabinet latches

I know they don't make these metal ones any more. Any sources or just go with plastic?

What to do about the busted sink?

It's clearly not just cracked
We were thinking about cutting it out and installing maybe a stainless sink/bowl of some sort, sizing might be tough though.

I'd love to keep the cabinet, but completely refinish it (along with all the other bathroom surfaces.

Go with white or should I stick with original turquoise/mint?

No battery/ hatch door

They both fell out on the highway for the previous owners.
Where to get? I feel like I checked all the usual online suppliers, albeit not intensively.
Hard to make one?
