Flooring and wood going in
finally got in my flooring, a cork look alike from Trafficmaster. I installed the living room area today, and refinished a couple more doors to reattach. Weather is going to take a big turn for the worst here, so I am glad I got some stuff done today.

Thanks. This is a very rewarding part of the redo as it starts to look like home inside.
Found a couple of pieces of wood I forgot to refin, did that this morning. Tacked down a few pieces of molding also. Putting to rest for awhile to watch FOOTBAll!

Anyone change out the two panels under the shower/tub? I am gathering ideas. Mine were cracked, and I took them out when I fixed the floor there. Thinking about aluminum, possibly, but also looking at other plastic and fiberglass type

I am going with wood. I have two pieces of real wood paneling left over from when I was putting new backing on a bookshelf I built. They are already stained and polyurethaned. They match the wood. I am going to take the teal green shower wall down and use plexiglass. You will be able to see the paneling instead of a green wall. My son's idea.

I like that idea as well. Will you screw it in? The old panels were riveted to the rim of the tub.

I have not really thought about how to anchor the plexiglass. I probably will go with screws. Since all the brass is shined I may go with Brass screws. What ever my son wants to do is fine with me. I am not the interior designer. My wife and son can go with what ever they want. I just want it done so I can go camping. Ha Ha.

I have the same set up for my bathroom and I plan on going with aluminum. I have a question about your flooring, I have been thinking about the allure also. How many square feet did you get? It sounded like you had a complete box left over from your last trailer. It also sounded like the last trailer you had a wood grain pattern? How did that look? I have cork in my house so I wanted to do something different. I'm really enjoying your posts. Thank.

I t would take most of three boxes if you do the whole trailer. I had part of a box left. I think I will carpet the bedroom, and use the Allure in the front and bathroom only.
As I recall it has 24 sq feet a box, and you lose a little as you have to match up the sticky parts to lock the planks together.
What worked well is using the paper strips that come between the planks, as templates. You can easily cut them to math the curves and angles, and then cut the planks.
I bought some bendable molding, unfortunately it does not quite bend around the curves enough, but I decided no to run any behind the couch either.
I also drilled some small holes in it and used some colored nails to help hold it down where the contact cement did not seem to hold.
I got the couch right over the seam where the two flooring styles meet, so you can't see the wood look part.
I am planning on having some parts fabricated for the trailer, the cover for the bathroom vent pipe, the surround for the kitchen vent fan, and maybe the two bath panels, I can get the guy to bend them and put the holes in for the rivets on his drill press.
Might see if he can do a refrigerator vent.

I will make those parts out of aluminum. Harbor freight has an inexpensive break an I do not think it would be difficult. The vent for the fridge might be tough.
I am pretty much sold on the allure.

Cork Allure flooring
I went with the Allure vinyl plank oin a cork look this time. Looks pretty retro in the 66. Got the fron room done, and just need the 1/4 round trim. I will carpet the bedroom area soon.
Put back in the pieces I had out to refinish.I am happy with the stain and all.

Removing the overhead bin
Any tips on removing the over the bed storage bin? I need to reskin the bottom where it had some water damage. It seems to be screwed in through the kitchen wall on one side. Not sure about the other side.

scored a pair of Worthington 30# Aluminum LP tanks today. They are in super shape. Needing opd valves, but I can get those.
Great find on CL, and the seller met us right off the highway on our way to Tampa. A good day and it's 70 degrees here!

Alan:
Congrats on the tanks. It is nippy today in Loganville. I still got out there and worked on the trailer. We were going to head to our property in Southern Illinois but decided with a snow storm rolling over the U.S. it might not be a wise idea. I think I will stay here work on the trailer and sit by the wood burning stove.

Its 72 degrees here. went to the beach today and strolled by the Gulf for an hour or so.
There is a 50s trailer here that has been on this land for years. Looks like they never move it.
