Talking I just found out...

A 1968 Airstream Overlander Land Yacht originally sold for $6795.

I went to Airstream and asked them.

So it looks like the new AS are more expensive than years ago? I would guess all the modern items added on through the years would account for some of the differences. jim

Not only are they more expensive but..They now project a lifestyle that's so much more refined, like a home environment rather than, a camping outdoor environment..
With all the creature comforts..Who's to blame?
BTW..My 67 Firebird, new then, was just under 4000$ and, that was some change then..
Then, in 69, I bought a British sport car called a TVR TUSCAN, WIDE BODY V8 for about the price of the 1968 Airstream you listed..
ciao

I just found out...

I will never forget the conversation with the original owners of my Overlander where they told about the Airstream being somewhat more expensive in 1964 than the new mobile home that they purchased the same year to live in when not traveling.

If I remember correctly, the mobile home was very close to $4,500 while the Airstream was right at $6,000.
