Front window Guard?

Ok so I am about 1 year into owning my 68 Overlander....Totally love it and have enjoyed the process....Our trips are getting longer and venturing into more and more unknown territory, just the way I like it.

I think it is time I come up with some kind of protection for my front window...I have seen some of the vintage covers that look like fiberglass?
I am a reasonably good fabricator and I have a cabinet shop....

I have considered building a bahama shutter type of thing for the front window, but am looking for ideas....

I see lots of vintage Airstreams with nothing on the front window, but ruining a vacation over a broken window is worth avoiding for me....

So please share your solutions with me !

The rock guards on both our trailers are 3/16” Lexan in an aluminum frame made out of 1” x 1/8” angle. I attached to the skin above the windows with aluminum piano hinge. The interior was out so I bucked the hinge to the skin. In your case you could use SS #8 sheet metal screws. They are clear so I can see through the trailer when traveling. Hope this helps.
