End Caps - Keep Or Replace

So I have been seriously considering building some wooden endcaps like so many others have done. Purely because I like the look and think I could do it. That said I do still have 2 uncracked fiberglass endcaps which I won't know what to do with them, I thought I would put a feeler out and find out if these are something that could fit other trailers (like maybe they could really help someone) or if they are a one trailer only thing.

I am not 100% committed to the idea and will likely do some test fitting with cardboard to see if I think I can do it but I wanted to see what I could do with them (or if they could help someone) because I would hate to just toss em.

Also - I saw a video where a couple used shiplap instead of re-installing the inner skins. I have spent hours reading you have to have the skins but I do like the look and didn't know if anyone else had done it and if it worked.

Side stepping the end cap question, I'd point you towards a product class you might not be aware of in your quest for a wood panel solution. Bendable plywood (also known as Curve-Ply, Flexply, Wacky Wood, and Wiggle wood) is made out of hardwood imported veneers with the layers all running in a single direction as opposed to the normal 90 degree crisscross layers.

This assembly allows bend-ability to the panel so it can be applied on a curved radius. The bendable direction can be either the long length (8') or the short length (4') of the sheet so be sure to pre-figure your cut list layout & dimensions for minimal discarded material.

I had no idea, I was looking at 1/5" ply at the local big box store. So here is the big question, it looks like you have choices in curvability, which one would work better? Hot dog or hamburger I guess (thinking back to grade school)

Hot dog or Hamburger? It is just a choice of layout orientation so the pieces curve as needed and you are left with minimal final castoff. The ability to bend is equal in either direction.

Sounds like hot dog 8' direction bendable and hamburger is 4' direction bendable.
