AC Shroud Help

Question about ac shroud on 1966 as picture shows old shroud ,but it must have been put on wrong or ac was wrong from factory because clearcoat shows the square end to front. would like to see pic.of 66 with old armstrong ac. thanks Jack

Is the shroud really needed, or is it just for looks? Our 66's shroud is in pieces, and I don't think there is enough there to put it back together and fix, and I can't get myself to spend $200+ on a new fiberglass shroud...

On our AC the shroud is essential since it is the cover for the air ducts the outside of the unit.

On the Armstrongs, the fiberglass shroud is purely decorative. The metal cover the has the round grill above the fan blades is essential, but the fiberglass shroud is not. If you look at my pictures, you'll see some with no shroud on my Armstrong, and some with a custom shroud. Check our my pinned thread under the airconditioning section.
