Hey, we're the same age! I like being in the "top percentile" for age. It's the first time I've been in the top percentile in anything.

Keep on fix'n...

Foil in

Bucked about 100 rivets this week to tighten up what needed it . Waiting for some oversized to come in so I can finish that .
Sanded from 3 feet of the floor from front to back , side to side inside using a coarse scotch brite . Then used auto epoxy seam sealer on all joints and any place that looked like it might leak . Covered everything I didn’t want paint on with plastic sheeting.

After drying, coated it all with PPG epoxy primer , rolled it on . Next day put two coats of lizard skin on . Great insulation I use on the cars I build ,heat and sound .

Then finally put my foil insulation on . 95% done with that . Still got to do the tail light area . Goining to seal that area up with a box after I pull and reseal them .

Will be off the toaster for about 3-4 weeks . Be oot camping and catching up with the Cannonball race and going to an antique Mc road run in SD .

When I return my ZD awnings should be here and I’ll know my mounting areas that I want to relnforce . Then I’ll start wiring.

Yeah, take a little break. Enjoy your other hobbies. The trailer will be there when you get back. I think you are building the best vintage Airstream in Texas, and maybe other parts too. Ain't many folks, including me, who go around and replace loose rivets. Great job.

That Harley is as old as you are! It looks beautiful. And I'm sure your Airstream will look beautiful when you are done with it.

Safe travels...

Back from vacation.

Got home last weekend and after 4or5 days of getting things back to normal I started laying out wire locations for wires after discussion of floor layout (still not completed on floor layout ) . Started pulling wire for 120 AC . Got 5 rolls of 12ga stranded in different colors for 12volt dc. Hope to get the Airstream wired , tv antenna, solar wires, and final floor layout finished by the end of October.Click image for larger version

Welcome back joyflea: We did a little Airstream traveling last week too. Overlander sits in the shop, no progress.

Maybe you are taking them with an Apple phone. I can't use the Apple device for pictures as I get weird rotations when I upload them. I also get different sizes of photos when using the phone. So I resorted to my old fashioned cheap "point and shoot" camera. I can load the photos onto my laptop and then upload them to Air Forums. Seems to work better for me. Software comparability? Kinda like a metric nut on a SAE bolt.

I bet others will chime in with the exact reason and correction for sideways pictures. I'm no computer expert by any means. It is just my experience with pictures on Air Forums.

I don't know the reason the pictures are rotated but I do know if I crop them just a bit they show up here correctly.
Nice looking trailer.

Wiring

2 more 12v wires to run . Tape all the wires in place . New screws in porch light after some sealer. Run solar wires . Mount tv antenna and run wire . Run drain on ac .
The list gets shorter !
Tested the light circuit and all works great . Hope to have wireing done by Monday . Need to button up some small stuff and be ready to insulate and mount all the interior skin . May get it painted before the weather changes in November.

It all adds up in the end but the little stuff does seem to take forever! Keep pluging away! It is getting there.

Hi joyflea: May I ask how you edited your photos to get them upright? Folks talk about cropping them smaller. But that sounds like a lot of work.

That’s exactly what I did . I only have to crop the ones taken with my iPad . It is real easy to crop them on the pad . If I use my little camera and download into the pad I don’t have to crop ?
Thanks to everyone who have responded to the tread .

I don't have one of those i-thingies. I can hardly turn off the TV anymore. Technology has passed me by. To me, a crop is like corn, wheat, cotton, or soybeans. Crop a picture means make it dimensionally smaller, or less pixels? When I upload pictures from my "point and shoot" camera, AirForums takes care of all the sizing for me. Thank you AirForums.

Wire ig roughed in !

Got the rough in done on the wiring. Just need to make sure I haven’t forgot something . The next week will be insulation but first I needed to move the heater vents to other side under where the oven was , as it’s getting moved to road side under new stovetop . Drilling new holes made me a little nervous but all went good . The photo of heater is with old cabinets in general area out about 3” from wall .
I will make a cover , patch , for the old holes shaped like this welding project I did a long time ago . The 30 amp and cable plug will be located in it . Just the state not truck .Click image for larger version
