Wide body how much wider?

How much wider is a wide body than the older 70's model Airstreams?

OD is 102", the max allowed by DOT. Widebodies did not come out until the mid 90's. Trailer widths before that were 96" OD. Soooo.....short answer 6".

so your 71 should be a 7ft wide...which was really 83inches...i think....
this width ran from 69 to 82...or 84?
then the next increase.....with the pushed out corners and the width was 8ft......

1969 was the first year the Airstream went to 96" i.e. 8' wide.

Then there is sometimes confusion about if that is inside or outside dimension.
The only width info I could find about our 75 is that it is 83" wide (likely at the floor on the inside), but it measures 96" wide outside dimension at the middle.
