Towing without interior skins

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this.

While I have been waiting on a welder to fit me into his schedule. During this time I have removed the lower section of the interior skins, floor. I have been told the trailer might have to move off the property where I am working.

My question is:

Once the welding and new floor is secure, can the trailer safely be moved without the interior skins. I should mention that I ordered new axles a week and a half ago and hope to have those on by the time it gets moved.

If I can move it without interior skins, could I continue taking the window level skins off? Or should I leave those on for piece of mine and safety sake.

Thanks in advance.

Depends on how far you are going to tow it without the interior skins, as they are an integral part of the monocoque design. Any side to side rocking motion caused by rough terrain or going in or out of driveways etc. is going to put a lot of strain on shell to frame connections. If it had to be done, I would probably brace the interior with at least 2x4s and ratcheting straps. Do you have a floor in it that you can tie bracing to? Probably won't make a lot of difference if you take more skins out...as long as you brace...and depending on what the conditions of the move are going to be. Go slow!

IMHO it is strong enough to tow anywhere without any interior skins, excessive snow load would be your only real enemy.

It will be fine to tow with the inner skins off as long as the shell is firmly attached to the frame and floor. I would put the skins back on before getting the roof. It would be best if the AC were not up there bouncing on the roof.
