Seems this would have been done before but I haven't found it yet.
Has anyone built a list of tools needed for various jobs?
Full Montes,
Floor replacement,
Interior skins?

My biggest question now is really around clecos.
I did some riviting in an A&P class I took a lifetime ago, so I am familiar with the idea, but what do I need? Size, number, any brands work better than others?

Good sources to buy the stuff?

For small jobs, you really don't need cleco's.

The factory used # 8 screws for many years, instead of cleco's.

But, if you insist, the two sizes are 1/8" and 5/32".

The 1/8" for pop and buck rivets, and 5/32 for Olympic rivets.

Aircraft Spruce is a good source for them. 877-4 SPRUCE

Google clecos and there are a couple of sources. Have the Snap-On man load his truck and unload it in your garage. You will probably have every tool you "might" need then.

Thanks Andy, I'm going to replace my belly pan and interior skins. For that much work, I think I'll get some clecos!!

Don't even make jokes about buying from the Snap-On man... he'll be back to see you every week to tempt you with more toys (at least until you've paid him off... I guess he'd start skipping weeks if you resist temptation for a while.) Tool truck guys offer a non-oil-field definition for "tool pusher."

I bought this toll a few years ago and you can cut through aluminum like butter, straight or curved with no crinkle effect. I think I bought this from Eastwood but they don't shown this in stock. There are bigger ones but this one fits right in the tool box.

I just replaced a front segment on my AS. I ordered clecos from Vintage Trailer Supply but after doing the job I realized I did not need them and they were unnecessary. I used two from the bag of them but could have just as easily used screws. On my inside panel I didn't use any I just didn't need them. I also bought a rivet shaver and it worked great.! I like to own tools but you can rent it from Out of Doors Mart through the mail if you like.
