I'm not suggesting you switch, but it's interesting that there is a screen company making invisible screen. I'll guess not nearly as dog-resistant as aluminum, but I installed it successfully. It was very easy to install.

Gee, sorry you can't see them in the picture, but they're there… Honest...

You can't see it. Very pretty trailer. thank you for the suggestion. I need a new screen for one house window. I'm going to try it.

I picked up the 2 large flat screens today. They look nice, flat & square.
It was the glass shops third attempt. First time they used fiberglass, 2nd black aluminum & last just the way I wanted it.
Happy Monday.

My daily morning coffee ritual includes looking at every Airstream on Cl and eBay. Many of the trailers are awful, but nearly always, the seller's photos include the magazine rack. That makes me chuckle, so I sawed and bent and riveted one up for the GT, then started a collection of old Pulp Fiction trailer tramp/park books for it…

Laptop fits too...

Very clever. Nice work too.
Do you have your own press brake? Your bends are nice.

what color was the serial #badge on the 67 Caravel? The badge that says *Caravel Land Yacht".
Mine appears to have been a light blue. It's faded too badly to tell.
Thanks!

I believe they were blue. Slats had his badge restored by a professional. It really looks nice. Here is a photo from his post #145. My Trade Wind is just aluminum now. Same with the Overlander.

Post 145: Scraped old tint off of front window and installed newly-painted letters and name plate. First use of new Home Depot kerosene heater. Didn't bring the building to room temperature, but made it bearable.

Sure: Dale and Terry get a 66 Trade Wind. Here is a link to the post which I hope works better than copy/paste. His user name is "Slats".

Milestone tonight.
The black water and grey water valves are in & don't leak.
The belly pan section under the bath is in. Tomorrow I'll fasten it down. Just clamped and Clecos now.Click image for larger version

That surely is a milestone in your project. It took a ton of work to get to this point. Maybe you want to test the valves by opening them with the tanks full just to confirm water will flow downhill.

So what is the next aspect of your project?

Next up is finish up the toilet perch & the bath sink/cabinet.
Then formica the counter tops install & done!
I'm sure I'm forgetting something but it's getting very close.
Battery install too. Waiting till the very end to buy that.
Thanks for the kind words David.

You know nice 67 Caravels are worth a lot. Someday you might be rewarded for all your efforts.

The words "toilet perch" brought on all kinds of silly images. Maybe your design will be better than mine. The 69 Globetrotter "above floor black tank cover" was part of the fiberglass molded "wet bath". It is 9" off the floor. I purchased the shortest toilet Camping World had on the shelf. It was nearly 13" high "low profile". Bottom line, the toilet seat is a grandpa pleasing 22" off the floor. The grandkids need a step stool to "perch" on it.

Press on regardless...

The 22 inch toilet perch is why I went with 2 separate valves for gray & black water.
To combine them the toilet would have been very very tall.
Not much room for pipes with a 3 inch frame cavity.

Do I need to lubricate the seals on my valterra valves?
If so with what?
Thanks!

I spray silicone on the blade to lubricate the seals. I also find RV anitfreeze seems to keep the seals lubricated. I do the same with the toilet blade valve.

But actually, I don't think lubricating the seals is required.

You were wise to have two sewer connections under your trailer to avoid the height issue. The 69 Globetrotter toilet height is all above the floor and independent of the drain piping. This trailer has an above floor black tank. I did run the gray 1 1/2" ABS pipe to a tee before the Valterra blade valve. That put the whole assembly some 4" below the belly pan. It didn't last one trip before it got wiped off on something when the rear of the trailer dragged on something. Rats.
