Subfloor radius the same front and rear?

I have a 1969 Safari that I am renovating. Getting ready to cut the new subfloor to fit on the chassis I built.

I am wondering if the front and rear radius is the same? The old subfloor was patched together in the front, a majority not under c-channel and so I don’t have a good template for it. The rear piece of flooring is fairly intact although rotted and I was thinking of using this as a template for both.

Not necessarily. I would make a template out of heavy kraft or rosen paper to make sure before cutting the subfloor wood. If the body is separated from the chassis, can you set it down on the paper to template?

Thanks. I kinda figured, but thought I’d ask just the same. Unfortunately, the shell has side wraps in the aluminum that won’t let it sit flat on anything. I might have to wrap something around the base on the outside of the shell.

Nope the radius's are different.

It would be ideal to use the old sub-floor as your template. However if it is gone. You can make templates from the inside dimension using corrugated or cardboard stock, I have even used thin ply veneer. Then transfer to your new wood.

I can't speak to the front vs. rear similarity, but I do know that the original subfloor in my '69 Safari is/was significantly undercut in several places. The original subfloor was cut too short making the c-channel sit on a slim section that jacks my ability to properly secure it. The c-channel itself is a better template than the original subfloor--if that is still attached to the trailer, make paper/cardboard template from it.

I went with a cardboard template of the c-channel which seems to have gone well. Obviously the real test will be when I mate up the shell. Thanks for the help, folks.
