Sources for Elevator Bolts
I was walking through the brand new Loew's in Wetumpka AL (near Montgomery) on Sunday and I noticed that there was a drawer in their hardware department labeled Elevator Bolts.
These look like the correct parts for the floors. If one store has them, others should be able to get them.

I've always been able to find them at our local Ace Hardware. Usually 1/4" IIRC.
Our search function is a bit strange. If you search only on the word 'elevator' and 'Show Results as' 'posts' you should find other very particular threads on this subject. I don't recall exactly -- was somebody even finding these in stainless?

Hi,
The Lowe's in my area stopped selling E. bolts.
Home Depot does not even carry them, bummer....
Vintage Trailer Supply has them.

I also have looked for E Bolts at Lowes in my area and I get HUH?. I tried Tractor Supply again I get HUH?
I have not tried FASTENAL .Fruehuf (trailer) E bolts were used also on Semi-trailer doors to hold on the latch mechinisim and leave a smooth interior.
I will continue to look I know there are here.

I own an Ace Hardware store and we sell elevator bolts. However, I purchased mine from VTS because theirs have much larger head surface sizes than ours. I like the extra holding power. IMHO.

Very cool, Steve-- once you get those installed along with the new subfloor, we would love to see you post your progress to your blog...
