Just beautiful work, nicely done Frank. How long did that take you anyway? Not sure you ever mentioned it on your blog or thread.

Thank you Marcus, I cannot remember, it was done in many stages. It could never look as nice as Toasties. His is the real deal and a real part of the trailer. I looked back over the earlier posts and it just looks spectacular. I hope some day to be able to see this trailer in person, it is very sweet.

Completely agree, Toastie's work is fabulous. I'd love to see this trailer some day as well.

Installed lock-set today

Installed lock set to the door today. First was to install the housing, had to fabricate a couple of brackets, and I used plenty of trempro 635.
Installed new 5/16 key stock with new torsion spring to handle, when I went to install the handle there was way to much tilt and slop. Took a piece of very strong nylon drilled a 5/16 hole, took 5/16 key stock heated it to red hot and melted the nylon to make the rectangle hole, no tilt or slop now. All part went together and the lock-set works great..........

Thumbs up

Nice job on the lockset. It will look super on that door. If I'm looking at the brackets you added correctly looks like you have these screwed to the lock housing and ? soldered or welded to the aluminum sheet. If not how are they attached? I have these same locksets. My doors have wood brackets which were inserted to hold the housing in place . These did a marginal job and as the wood shrank/rotted the housings have loosenedsomewhat. As I will be rebuilding the doors I am following your fine progress with interest. Ed

Almost done with the door

The door has been the most time consuming so far, but I'm almost done.
Need to tweet and add gaskets and plenty of trempro 635. Here are a few pic's.

Thanks, had to do the inner door outer skin twice, the first time, I stood back and said Aerowood would not approve the rivet job, so I ripped it off, and try-ed it again, not perfect but I'm happy with it.
