Assembled, dis-assembled test, took about 5 min’s to take apart, will seal opening’s with a membrane then insulate and then final assembly.

Toastie, Always love seeing your work and updates, I question the fiberglass insulation in the floor. If you have even a small leak or condensation forming on the bottom of the bath floor the insulation may hold the moisture there?
Again thanks for the pictures and all the details you have posted.

What type of P-Trap are you using and is that a picture of the P-Trap or is that a check valve?

That is a waterless trap, Hygienic Self Sealing Waste Valves, has been approved for RV use in the US since early 2007. Dry sealing valve prevents the escape of odors. Can be used in a vertical application as well as horizontal. Read my post #387 to #393, there is a test video for back pressure................toastie

Woohoo! This could be the solution to preventing gray water from sloshing up into the shower! No need for long ""U" shaped pipe runs and other sub-floor oddities! Did I say woohoo? And a bonus of not having a slight bump in the belly pan for the shower J-trap. It just gets better and better.

I looked into these traps and what worries me is how long does the diaphram last? How does it tolerate funk buildup. I envision the valve getting fowled with hair and black funk that you commonly find in P-traps. Once this happens, you now have a one way valve that is locked partially open. So now you put draino in there and what is that going to do to the valve components? I think this would be a great thing inline with an ordinary p-trap but not as a replacement.

I recently lost my bathtub j-trap, the solid cast original that I worked so hard to clean and preserve. It broke off with some of my waste plumbing. I'd been thinking about try to find another one, but this is a better solution I think. Now the plumbing can just make a clean right angle below the subfloor, and head off to the gray tank.

You might consider adding a layer or two of reflective foil insulation here. It is pretty much impervious to moisture.

You can see in the pictures that the waterless trap sets right on top of the tank, I covered it with a membrane (see post #883) and caulked it big time but left a very small hole on the bottom, the wood floor should not see any water from this joint.

I used the Hepflo valves on my project (Tub, sink and basin) they work well, I did however have one faulty unit straight from the package. I'll definitely use them again.

Not ever, ever wanting to disturb the pipe to black tank rubber joint, I went with a smaller piece of 3”, it also gave me a better visual to make sure that the pipe sealed to the rubber mount, and then sealed it using silicone caulking. From the 3” will use a heavy duty seal with 2 stainless steel clamps to make connection to toilet. Have a service door if I do ever have to remove the toilet flange.

Installed shower fixture today, had to modify black plastic housing because of 3/4” plywood thickness, worked out great.
