Refinishing A-Frame, needing Paint color

OK, I give up on the search function on this forum.... Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but 5000 results searching "frame paint color", and 98% of those have nothing to do with what I'm looking for.

I'm having a fellow come out and soda blast the front a-frame of out '01 Limited. I've pulled off all the Hensley attachments, emergency brake, gas bottles, etc....
So we should be starting fresh with a nice metal surface.
I'd like to come close to matching the original color (some shade of dark grey) with a nice oil based or urethane paint. anyone know of either a source or possibly a color code to reference?

I guess I should have just used Google search instead. I just searched google with "2001 Airstream A frame paint color" and it pulled up a dozen posts from Air Forums, among others as well. :-)

I have found the same thing! I thought it was my user error but your post just made me feel much better. Maybe someone has some pointers.

I had my 1976 Sovereign polished and the A frame and lower body roll painted with the same color paint that they use in the newer Airstream's at Oasis RV http://www.oasisrv.com/. You may be able to check with them on the paint.

Can't help with the paint but I share the same experience with the search function on this forum.

If you have a removable piece of the desired color take it to any auto paint shop / body shop and they can custom mix you a single stage paint to match. Auto paint ain't cheap but you can get a liter or so and it will last awhile for touching up.

Here's what I used. It is a bit more of a "blue" gray than the AS gray. The AS color actually looks to be a "green" gray when next to the a-frame. But this is about as close as you are going to get IMO.

Color Codes - Dupont B8270 Cross-Reference
