Out riggers replacement

Hi,
I am replacing the out riggers on a shell off restoration of my 1975 Land Yacht 25'. My question is I have more on the curb side that need to be replaced. Can I just use the street side as I have left overs? Then also I have a question as to why the solid out riggers are notched?
Thanks for the advice.

I don't see why they would not be reversible. Maybe a photo of the notch would help. The main thing is you don't want to put them where a rib is where you can't attached to the C-channel. Also the ones for the steps are special. There may also be appliances like water heaters where the outrigger could get in the way if you don't put them back where they were.

Thanks, I do not have a photo yet.... I would put them back in the same spot but the lips/edges go the other way. But I can not see why that would matter as the whole thing is covered with the belly pan and edges... thanks again for the process check.

You probably want seams to be over a cross member or outrigger. I actually made an outrigger out of 1" angle iron like a little truss. This was so both sides of my floor would have an anchor point. You could also weld a bigger flange on the top of the outrigger to give the seam more support.
