I guess you could say that I sort of wrote the book about using Polyboard for my floor replacement since I seem to have written so much about my experiences with it on this forum. Check it out at the following thread:

Has anyone experience using an electric plane on nyloboard? I want to purchase 3/4 inch and plane the edge to5/8 so it will fit into my c chanel. I guess othe roption is 1/2 nyloboard and 1/8 luan bu tthat defeats the advantages of nyloboard.

I used a hand held grinder on my nyloboard and it worked. It went very smooth, quick and easy.

Every time I use my router disaster strikes. Must be genetics. Good idea though

Any smoking or burning from the grinding?

I better do the work when my wife is gone - she will assume I am in danger instant death from fumes (maybe I am). Did grinding wheel clog up? I'm going to trim 1/8 thickness off 3 sides of a 4x4 sheet

My floor was 3/4" in thickness. That is what I ordered when I bought the Nyloboard. I just needed it fit nicely in the C-channel. I shaved it, it smoked, stunk but worked. If you are taking 3/4" board and trying to make it 5/8" I really don't know how much grinding you will have to do. Nothing gummed up. It worked well

I'm hoping I don't have to shave off a whole 1/8 inch. Some other posts say 3/4 will work OK if the fiberglass insulation is removed from the frame rails. The pink stuff is already history on this repair. Called a local supplier in Nashville and they will get back to me on price and availability.

Tennessee Nyloboard
tvanwave,
I also called the distributor in Nashville and the response they gave me was that they suggested another product. I'm considering going to the factory but I don't really want to buy 20 sheets. Please let me know if you get a different result from them. How many sheets do you need? If you're interested, I can go to Georgia and pick up enough product for both of us.
Thanks,
Kevin

I need 1 sheet for rear floor repair; maybe two if I do the bathroom floor too. I have not looked at the front area of the trailer yet - if there is rot there then 3 sheets. I thought 20 sheets was the minimum if they shipped an order and that on-site pickup did not have that restriction. Could be wrong though.

I'll re-read the post about the restrictions. This is one post:
"I contacted Nyloboard 9/7/2010. I was told that they require a minimum order of 20 sheets to obtain from factory directly, but they had 14 blemished 1/2" sheets they would sell me for 108.00 each. I also contacted Piedmont Plastics, a distributer of Nyloboard, and was told I could get any quantity for 110.00 ea from them."
This is another:
"Phoyt, if you order directly from the factory they have a minimum of 20 sheets, but if you order from a distributer you can order any quantity, no minimum. There also does not seem to be much of a price difference between the two."
If the Piedmont Plastics location in Georgia stocks the stuff, I wouldn't mind driving there and getting it from them. Maybe if the local Piedmont folks get enough requests for Nyloboard, They will take us seriously. At a price point of over $100 per sheet, I would think someone would come knocking on our door to sell it to us.
Thanks,
Kevin

Hi I have been following this thread and I have received a sample of the 3/4" fiberglass coted 4x8 sheets. I got a quote from Piedmont Plastics for $209.77 (uncoated) $217.99(coted) per sheet. I have a 1965 30' Airstream.
Have any of you who have experience with this material had any problem with attaching it to the frame cross members because of the 4' width? Have you noticed any sagging issues? Do you feel the coted is better than the uncoated? Is it necessary to plane the edge to 5/8" ( I have removed the old insulation)?
Any one?

Your point seems correct. No call-back yet from Piedmont-Nashville despite two promises to 'get right back'. Some post mentioned a helpful personal contact there, perhaps she could interceed for a smaller order, perhaps blemished 3/4 G2.

Thanks for statrting this thread and for the performance updates. I just finished a note to Kimberly Cole asking for current policy and prices for G2 3/4 4x8 blemished sheets. Of course their factory might be closed today becasue of the weather there. I am hopefult though!

I was just out. I made a trip to Wal-Mart. The roads are terrible. I hear The busy Atlanta Roads are fine, but the other roads are solid Ice. I live 30 minutes from the factory. Everything out my way is closed down except Wal-mart. I would bet they are closed today.

Bad weather must be keeping the nyloboard people at home or busy shoveling. No note back from Ms Cole yet. I see there is a piedmont plastics in ATL I may call tomorrow.
