There is a reason why these units are called ROOF AIRS!! After Dometic spent probably hundreds of thousands of dollars engineering a product, where do you come off deciding that they will work better under a trailer, rather than on the roof where they were designed to be placed???

RVP/Airxcell makes a basement A/C unit that is designed for your intended location. Rather than bastardizing every component you intend to use and the trailer itself, why don't you do a little research and do something properly, using products the way they were intended and designed to be used?

Or are you trying very hard to be a comedian with the sole purpose of trying to get a rise out of the folks on the Forums? Or better yet, do you just like to see the gibberish that you input to this thread on the net as you seem to be asking questions and answering them yourself?

This will be my last post to this ridiculous thread. One bit of advice: Either learn what you are doing or buy something that has already been manufactured. You will be a menace to the motoring public if you attempt to complete your 'project' with the lack of skills and experience that you think you have but in reality don't seem to posses!

This thread is getting more ridiculous than the one by 'Cursh' !!!!!

The RVP/Airxcell unit is 18" tall. I guess only 5th wheels can use that in the floor, since tongue pulls would sit to high.

The RVP/Airxcell unit has all the same components, just configured differently. Theirs cools the radiator out the side, just like a normal roof unit. It even blows the cold air down. So the penguin fan will blow on the ground instead of a baking hot roof, I will have to make a gaurd that covers the opening while driving, and I might void the non-existent warranty.

If I end up with 18" under the floor, and can sell my two units for enough money to buy two of those, I would, But only because of naysayers. I personally think a grill out the side would look horrible.

well, one obvious thing you forgot to add is an in-sink-erator. You'll need a garbage disposal if you want the ultimate traila.

I have a jetted tub in the yard, no joke, I could trim it and drop the trailer shell over the tub, I think the tubs rim follows the rear bath's curve pretty close.

Just curious, what are the penguin's names? And wouldn't it be difficult to clean out the 'mess' they would make in the underbelly of the AS?

Well, something will happen someday, but I'm afraid today might have pushed the AS plans back just a little bit. It most definitely postponed the tool hauler.

As I was driving out of Kroger today, I saw a nice big glossy PREVOST. So, I swung around to get a second look, right into a concrete pillar! AHHHH!!!

I know I was distracted, but what the hell! At one point there was a light on top of it, now it's just a random truck killer in the middle of a, dark, back corner of the lot. 2' tall, faded, chipped up, yellow paint. I was turning into the light, so in a normal glance, all I could see was gray.

In an old lot I would have expected it, but this was a well kept Kroger, it didn't mesh with the norm in my mind.

I was supposed to move the AS in a day or two,.. I guess it's Home depot's rent-a-truck time

At least, I know I won't be on the roads new years eve.

The real reason I posted that comment, however, is that as a scientist I get tired of that quote of Einsteins being used to suggest that facts and knowledge are unimportant. Einstein was arguing for the importance of possessing and explorers spirit, not for magical thinking.

It's no hoax.
I have, I think, two more days and I'm done with home restoration that is entirely over budget. So, I'm focusing 100% on that.
As soon as I can clean up and clear stuff out of the way, I'll take some pictures.

I have been drawing every night. I also spoke to my uncle, who builds huge skylights for hotels and malls. Once I'm more definite, about what direction I'm heading in, he/we will draw it up with cad. He said his verision, ran in the tens of thousands of dollars. It has a library of materials, their strength, weight, and all that good engineer/physics stuff.
