late '50s early '60s floor channel

I have to replace the floor channel on my 62 FC and want to know what alloy aluminum was used. I have measured it at about .023 thickness. Was it tempered or just 5052 type aluminum? Any help is appreciated.

A hard tempered aluminum like 2024 t3 will crack if you try to bend it like c channel. Use 5052 h3 in .032 or .040 and you will be happy with the results.

Common 5250 in .032 will form up in a common alum siding brake. The .040 will bend up in a good one. Comes out as original.
