Hey awesome people. We got rid of our
1960 Tradewind because I had fixed everything, and where's the fun in that... so yesterday I bought a 1990 Excella 29 from the second owner. It's lovely, been sitting in covered storage for forever, and needs all the normal things.
The floor is fantastic at the door, the back, even the bathroom, which is wonderful. But this model's frame makes a huge space right at the front for the spare tire, and I am trying to figure out how I would cut a piece that lands on a frame rail. The center of the OSB, right at the holddown plate, is solid, as is most of the curbside edge.
On my Tradewind, I was able to split the front piece so I could install it in two pieces and wedge it in there, with the seam landing on a frame rail. I can't figure out how I would do it here. This will be under a gaucho or dinette, so I think I could probably keep the seam from bearing weight, but I just can't figure out the simplest way to do this.
Any wisdom?
Thanks-
Brian
