how much POR15 to coat entire 31' sovereign frame
I have been constantly thinking of how much square footage the frame is in an attempt to determine how much POR15 i need to coat the frame from tip to tail.
anyone have a good idea how much i will need (brushing it on)?
Thanks

On my 27', I used a quart of the degreaser (plenty), a quart of the metal prep (barely enough), three quarts of the coating (also barely enough), and one quart of the topcoat (plenty) to do two coats on the frame of our 27' Overlander, and topcoat the exposed areas. If I were doing it over again, I would have bought 2 quarts of the metal prep and 4 quarts of the coating and so that I could be a little more liberal with the second coat.

Applying POR-15
Take every measure you can to prevent getting any POR-15 on your hands/arms. Buy and wear the best protective gloves you can find. If you get any on your it will take a long time to wear off.
I coated 5 Ford Galaxie frames with POR-15 when performing frame off restorations back in the 1990's. Great stuff.

Applying POR-15
What Uraljohn said!!! If you are not familiar with POR-15 read the directions carefully and use plastic on the ground, wear old clothes you can throw away, rubber-band the long sleeves, long rubber gloves, face shield, ETC.
It is a very thin liquid that flows and drips everywhere. It bonds well to almost anything. Once you get it on your skin you will wear it for about a week or so. There is no getting it off without removing the top layer of skin.

You can spray POR-15 by cutting it 50% with a quality automotive paint thinner, not HD or Lowe’s stuff, and you’ll use a lot less.
