Holy floor
While we never reallly meant to do it, one thing lead to another and I am glad we gutted my 77 Overlander international. I found 3 small holes in the floor. I know that we have to address the leaks that caused them and have bought new vents and will reseal everything on top and follow up with the windows. I am not sure how to address the holes in the floor themselves. Do I need to pull the entire piece of plywood and replace or are these small enough to be dealt with in another way?

Forum gratitude
Thanks for the information. I have alot of work to do and was hoping that I could just patch the plywood. Your repairs looked great! I need to get the Airstream into the air and pull off the belly skin to see if there is frame damage but have no idea where to get ramps or how to get my Overlander up onto them. There are many missing rivets and a tear where one of the leveling jacks was. This forum has been a lifesaver for a newcomer. I would not even have known where to start.

Actually... I've been so busy removing my interior and prepping to remove the body that I haven't even considered where you'd jack one of thes trailers from. I suppose under the axle? Is that right... ?

Axle jacking is bad! You can bend the thing a cause alignment problems of your wheels. From what I have read the pad that attaches the axel to the frame is the only place you should jack. I would ramp up the wheels to raise the trailer. You could build rams from scrap 2 x 6's fairly cheeply and it would be more stable.

I used one of these to lift our coach. Makes it real convenient to have the whole thing overhead to work on.

Geeze, that would be nice
Of course, my trailer has pretty sufficient clearance; without lifting it I was able to get under there and drill out all the belly pan rivets and remove the gas lines pretty easily. Sure, my neck was sore for a day or two, but it wasn't too bad.

Gettin' it Up
DustyRhodes, Balgrn,
No experience with a two axil rig, but it may act like a single axil when lifted if supported adequately.
I used a standard solution found here on the Forum, a pair of car ramps. The hoist would be grand, if you've got one and the space. See K-Mart or Wal-Mart for a set of ramps. The extra clearance works wonders when spending any amount of time under the rig.
Have fun,Ed
