Hello, Airstreamers. I have a
1953 17’ Clipper that was totally remodeled about 6 years ago. I use it as an extra get away space on my place. The person who remodeled it from the axles up did a great job. It was expensive but I am very happy with it. The problem is that it has been leaking in two places and the bamboo floor in two spots along the wall has rotted. The guy has disappeared and I can not find him by phone, email or internet. I have covered the entire roof and then the AC and vents with a tarp to try to locate the leak but water still gets in. My only option to save my floor is to build a roof over it. I am not crazy about that but I love my trailer and can’t stand to see what is happening. I live south of Birmingham, Al. Is there anyone in the area that I can hire to replace the flooring or even take a look and see if they can give me another option other than the roof. It is not a huge area that needs replacing but there are built-in cabinets over the floor (not the damaged areas) that may make replacing boards a challenge or I would attempt it myself. It is heartbreaking to see this. I have had the vents resealed and inspected by a local RV company and they said they were at a loss as to where the water is coming from. I appreciate any advice.
