Time to move on

Our holiday in France is over so time to work on the Airstream again. Next year i want to to France in our Airstream, so no time to waste
The day started with the delivery of some boxes from the USA. Removall, nuvite, some interior lighting, exterior lighting and some other fun stuff.
But that has to wait, first the frame.
Today i started removing the lower interior alu, and the mosquitoscreens around the windows. Now i know what rivets are.

... do yourself a favor and make a template of the inner shape of the c channel. Looks like you have a good bit of missing wood in the rear.

Maybe 2 days and then the shell can be lifted of. Today i cut most of the bolts holding the shell to the frame. Also started to remove some flooring.

tomorrow lifting day?

Maybe tomorrow the shell can be lifted. Inside is loose, all i have to do is cut a few bolts on the outside connected to the outriggers.
Got the Airstream out of the garden to clean the mess underneath it.
Back in place again, so hopefully tomorrow is D-Day

The shell is off. The frame is still underneath the shell but is loose.

Yay! Congratulations!

Did you add more wood framing inside to ensure that it keeps its shape?

Great work!!!

I love that scaffold system you had. Leave it to the Dutch to have such smart methods.

What kind of pricing did you get on the new frame? I have a 76 31' I have owned for about 7 weeks and now it is down to the bare frame and I'm getting high quotes for a new one.
