Hi Folks; After bringing home new to us 1973 26' Argy on the 15th of September from Ohio, it was stripped and shell was removed for total restoration. One thing that have noticed that the frame is 5" and not 4" as I have read in one of the threads. Although the frame is repairable we have chosen to build a new one from 0.090" wall Stainless Steel box tubing. The shape will provide greater stability comparing to 0.125" formed "C" channel. Since I own a fabricating facility it is more cost effective for me to build new rather than sandblast repair and paint the old one. However, I have jumped the gun and never checked the tongue weight prior to dismentling the unit. Unless someone helps me with average tongue weight I will have to guess, or do a lot of componnent weighing in order to come up with proper tongue weight. My Argy did not have a grey water tank so placement of the new one within the frame can help with the balance. The old frame without axles will be available for adoption if someone needs one,
after the new one is compleeted. Thank you "boatdoc".
