Flooring around toilet
We have a 1972 Overlander. We are starting to put a new vinyl floor in it. Would it be better to tile around the toilet, or remove it? Is their any other tips or suggestions, or secrets that might help? Thank you

Your choice
You can do it either way just be sure to use a pattern cut from poster board or cardboard to get an accurate representation of the floor area to be cut onto the vinyl tile or roll flooring. If you remove the stool and riser then just cut flooring around black tank flange. Layout for all cuts around edges and commode are essential for a good looking finished floor. Seal around stool areas and wall edges to keep moisture from getting to sub-floor. I would use a latex/butyl sealant rather than silicone around the wall edges as it will stick better to the aluminum and be easier to remove in the future. You may want to consider using Sikaflex221 as it would be gray rather than white. Ed

I'm about to find out! I have a new one ordered.
I have removed one on an SOB, there were 2 hold-down studs/nuts. One of them was awkward and I had to use a special wrench to reach it. (Chevy distributer wrench)
I believe that the 2 bolt arrangement is pretty standard, and how much room your model has around the toilet will affect access.

Simple two bollts, the bolts are secired to the ring which is screwed into the tank.
Remove two nuts off the bolts lift toilet.
Put the floor in tight to that ring which should be screwed to the floor.
A bead of regular siliconee in a color to match around, done.
Now onto the next job.
