floor channel overlap on frame

We have the rear floor in, as well as the new floor channel which is the modern type, not just the simple C channel of old.

However, in one spot about 8" across we can't get the channel up tight to the back of the unit and flush with the frame. It is sticking out about an inch. Despite our efforts, it refuses to budge.

Any ideas?

Your description gives me a partial view of the issue. Can you post a digital shot of the area/problem?
