Elevator bolts

I've gotta ask.are these bolts for leveling the floor where there is a distance between braces?,

They're used to hold the plywood subfloor down to the frame and outriggers. They're useful for that because of their wide, flat head, which distributes the point load a little bit and acts as its own washer.

Not sure why they're called elevator bolts.

They are called elevator bolts because of their use in grain elevators. They are usually found next to the plow bolts at Tractor supply and Fastenal.

Yeah there were some frame braces in the rear bathroom that had rusted.i took angle iron and bolted it to the non rusted parts creating a small gap.i figured I could take the bolts and use them as a spacer as well as using them to bolt the floor to the frame.

Chances are really good that you have rusted out bolts too. I was shocked at the residual dimension (what's left) when I cut the bolts out. I'm doing a shell off restoration on a Argosy.
