Cross Member of frame

Ok,

I have a question concerning the frame. I got a 73 Sovereign Landyacht. I have removed the floor up front under the couch. and I was wondering if I could weld a piece of steel cross the frame. That way I can put the floor back in in two pieces and bolt and screw it in. the frame is kind of like an upside down "V". I think it would make it stronger. But I dont know that much about it. I did a search and couldnt find anythbing in the repair forum. Has any one done this before?

Thank you

Joe

Why not?..seems like anything you do that will strengthen the frame, if done right would be ok. As long as you know you have no leaks that will cause or continue any rusting.
