My guess is it came with carpet but am not sure. I think hardwood for carpet is a significant upgrade in terms of using the trailer. We have hardwood flooring in one of our older trailers and a floating vinyl plank in the other. We hated the carpeting. Do check around the edges and in the storage compartments and where ever you can to see if there is water damage to the subfloor under the flooring. I would think the value of the hardwood is going to depend upon how nice it looks and how well it is installed.

Dumping carpet for laminated wood floors is a no brainer for my money. Much easier to cope with the dirt you track in. Throw rugs can be added were desired.

A floating floor is not glued or physically attached to the substrate.
It has an opportunity to 'float' so well it can float up real good.

We have carpet...SWMBO loves it and I have no opinion.
Although I did rip it up for all outside storage compartments.

You will probably find that he carpet is under everything, usually put in before the furniture. I can't figure out how to send you a link, but search "Bambi Carpet Removal project 2022" in this forum for my post about removing carpet in my '01 Bambi. I replaced it with Supercore Xtreme vinyl stone composite planks and it worked out well. My research led me to it for temperature stability (very little expansion / contraction). You can choose to remove the cabinets as I did, or cut around them. I removed the cabinets that would have required fancy cuts around the edges and left the ones I could lay planks up to and slip them under the edge. The important thing is that you have good subfloor, no rot or warping. Mine was OK but I found some water leaks that the factory kindly included at no extra charge...

As the owner of a 2000 25' Safari-it did come with carpet. When I replaced the carpet with vinyl plank flooring, I removed the twin beds, gaucho, and the front corner cabinet as carpet was under all these items and installed the flooring. Having access made installing the flooring so much easier as it took less cutting and longer runs of the flooring. Reassemble was easy. I don't see how replacing 23 year old carpet with flooring affects the value as carpet use is way down today.
