Carpet tiles are the answer.

After 3 years of full-timing and another 3 of most-timing the original shag type carpet in our ’99 30’ Limited was very stained.
We are very happy with the 3’ x 3’ modular carpet tiles that we just installed.
The tiles are industrial strength that are remnants left over from hospital, airport, hotel, etc. jobs. They are dense industrial carpet with an attached pad and a moisture barrier. You can put them down with double sticky carpet tape and then if one gets a stain you can pull it up to pressure wash or replace.
We bought 14 for $10 each from Carpet Tile Northwest in Tacoma, WA. It’s in an old warehouse garage (very low overhead). Generally the price ranges are $10 to $18 per tile depending on the thickness or size (also in 18" x 18"). The brand we got happens to be Milliken. There is a wide variety of color and patterns. Some are very garish.
We bought extra 2 extra tiles because once it is all sold you may never see it again.
Some friends installed some a year ago and are still happy with them.

Hi LTD30--I have 19-3/4" square commercial carpet tiles that have a short nap, and a firm rubber backing, in moss green. Have installed similiar tiles on a concrete floor without any type of adhesive, as long as it was tight against the walls. In the A/S may use some double side tape around the door. Will let you know how it works out when I get around to installing it later this year. Price was right, $0, as it was free leftover from a large commercial job.--Frank S

I've been seeing more projects on HGTV where the designers are using the self stick carpet tiles. I googled them and found a few designs I liked but wanted to check with everyone here to see if anyone tried them, how they liked them, if they tripped you up on the edges, if they used glue or the self stick.
