carpet glue

What are my options for flooring if previous carpet was glued down. The carpet came out good but the glue on the plywood leaves a sticky uneven surface. I was wanting to do floating cork. Any suggestions. Thanks

While I think that it would be advisable to remove the glue residue, a possible means of isolating what can't be removed would be to use the product that was used as an insulator between the composite aluminum floor and the Armstrong Laminate flooring in my Minuet. Armstrong makes a product called Quiet Step Underlayment -- it s a light-weight product designed for use with Laminate Flooring systems and isolates the Laminate flooring from the subfloor.

Good luck with your research and project!

Kevin
