Black floor spots on linoleum

Trying to figure out what's going on here

Better picture. This is located front of my international 23 FB. These spots started to appear and trailer has a light musty smell to it. I believe there is a water leak. I'm not sure how to diagnose this. I tried to take to local dealership for warranty repair but their workload was so heavy they didn't even get to it in 7 weeks of waiting.

So I am re- assessing.

That looks like a water leak....water under linoleum...some had a problem with leakage from seal at rear?

Thanks— you think it’s from rain? Or ac ? I don’t understand how water could get under the linoleum. Please if possible share the link to others issues I looked around.

floor might be getting soft...seal around front of trailer?...window leak? Check forums under search...you may find something...if musty, mold may be forming...

Get a moisture meter and stick that area to test
My guess is you have a leak coming down a wall inside and getting between floor and floor boards

Thanks so you think it’s a rain leak right ? Not from internal // it hasn’t rained in a while where I live. I guess I could spray water outside with a hose and then use the meter.

We had a similar leak coming from the bathroom plumbing. It could also be from water coming in from under the beltline and through popped rivets.

How did you find it ?

The leak took about 3 months to find since it was intermittent and as we found out that it only happened when hooked up to high city water pressure (internal pressure regulator not working?). The threaded connection shown had the intermittent leak. Our leak was in the bathroom. Probably tightening it would have solved the problem but by the time we found it the damage was done.

Thank you for sharing. Here is exactly where the water is damaging the linoleum. Man this is giving me the cold sweats. Making me crazy

The hard part of it is the warranty covers it but it literally didn’t even get looked at by these knuckleheads at the dealer for 7 weeks. So I took it back home. I’d rather drive it to Jackson or do the work myself if I can figure out what the heck. The hard part with this leak is there is no natural source of water in the highlighted portion of my photos above

Judging by where your leak is I would say water is coming in around the wheel well or through the beltline and probably not a plumbing issue. We also had a leak where there were either no rivets or they popped off which allowed water to pass through the open rivet holes. If you see a gap Iike in these photos then you may have a rivet issue. Check all around your trailer. Ours was brand new and was Ike this. Your stain probably took 2 to 3 months to get like that. Is it under warranty?

Yes it’s a 2017. Brand new had it built. Picked up feb 25th this year

Definitely time to get Airstream customer service involved. That is what we ended up doing. 7 weeks to get an appointment when you are under warranty it unacceptable. Your dealer should set aside time for warranty work in a timely manner.

Thanks. I just checked the low rivet area from your pic and read your old thread. I have no doubt this is covered because the local dealer got it covered and I confirmed w AS. I just got completely fed up with the service department at the only dealer that I know services Austin area.

I bought it from a dealership in Florida and emailed to maybe make a trade up into a newer unit but they aren’t being super generous on the trade value.

I have the same problem in a 27 fc 2017. Jackson center found the leak in the pluming to the outside shower. They are going to take two weeks to remove everything on the floor and replace all the flooring. Will also check every thing out be for re assemble.

Linoleum or vinyl? Linoleum is a linseed oil based product. As far as I know it is only made under the brand name Marmoleum and only used in custom applications.

Thanks. Do you think I should go the JC route? Will take a lot of driving then Lot of flying back and forth. Do you know if all that travel is covered ? I’d really love it if I could just trade up for a fair value and get a new unit.

I am only 50 miles from jc. So it was my choice. Good luck on what ever you chose.
