Bathroom floor replacement

I just got done removing all the plastic from the bathroom in my 68 globetrotter. When I removed the sink, I noticed extensive wood rot. I was thinking of cutting away the damaged area and replacing it with new plywood. Can this be done and if so, what would be the best way to do it . I have everything removed from the bathroom except for the bathtub. Can't figure out how to separate the tub from the drain. Should I remove the tub and replace the entire bathroom floor or can I just fix a small area. The area with water damage is approx. 2 feet by 2 feet. Thanks for help , Mike

Have run into isolated floor rot on my 1957 Overlander and 1989 land yacht. I opted to just replace the rot by cutting along seem supports with a circular saw using the depth setting for the thickness of the plywood . Then used self tapping screws to attach new plywood to frame. Seems like you have to choose a stopping point somewhere or you end up with a body off restoration. By the way we are within about an hour of you. Oakdale, ca. Would like to see your airstreams!

Hard to say what needs to be replaced without some pictures. What does the wood look like all around the back perimeter? If the bolts are rusted, they should be cut and replaced with stainless. Post some pix for some better answers.

To remove the bathtub, I ended up cutting the plastic pipe with a long blade on a reciprocating saw. Somewhere along the line you have to cut it for it to come out.

Thanks for the reply. The plywood does not look really bad, but is sagging and brittle. I will try to get some photos posted this weekend.
