Another subfloor install questions(s)
Hello All,
I'm getting ready to cut and install my flooring and I noticed a slight discrepancy.
First, this has been a many year, slooow project. When I ripped out my floor, I was planning on doing a shell on but the rear of the frame needed to be replaced, so I opted for shell off after subflooring removal.
So, I did not have my existing floor to use as templates. I took plenty of pictures but they are not showing exactly what I need.
The EXACT width of the flooring is what I'm looking for.
I've used scrap pieces of 3/4" ply and lined up my alum channel on the outriggers. My result has the ply roughly lining up with the edge of the outrigger. Is that the norm? I will be installing new C channel also.
SO, my other question is, except for the 2 short outriggers at the front, all outriggers are 14.75" long. When I started working around the entrance, I noticed the 2 outriggers at the entrance that support the steps are 15" long. I know its only a 1/4" but won't the push the banana wrap and shell alum on each side of the steps out a little when riveting to the alum channel.
FYI, I do know there is no C channel at the doorway.
I've attached a couple drawings for reference.
Any pics or comments would be greatly appreciated
thankyou
