Marzboy What type of insulation did you use, and how was it installed . I have the floor and tanks installed insulation is next thanks St.Pierre

@ StPierre I used Polyiso (at lowes called RMax) I glued two layers and taped them. Hope to get started on the buck riveting this weekend.

@Marc Yeah it was a big pain to land it square in fact it still needs to be nudged. I have to repair the rear curb side corner so bucking rivets will the next step. Wish me luck.....

So when you said you put it down too hard and it got some damage, does that mean you dropped it or went too fast with the jacks letting it down? Husband says he wants to be the only person doing the lowering down because he is not wanting any disasters. That and most of the people we know are as old as we are or older so lots of lifting by human muscle alone are not options. We might have to borrow some of your friends...

@ StPierre Sorry I used PL 200 construction adhesive. It is used to bond material to sub floor plywood.
@Sandy I would strongly suggest that your husband have at least a friend or two to help level and square the shell. I am haveing a few problems right now with the shell sitting slightly forward. The lifting is done with bottle jacks and floor jacks. The damage was from a slight mis calculation on my part. I had the floor channel slightly longer than the trailer. Unfortunately the rear channel was missing when I bought the trailer. So I didn't have great measurements to go by. Remember to measure everything!!!!!!!

Haha no but it got the shell where it needed to be. Drilled out new holes to get ready for bucking rivets. Hopefully more pics to come.

Got a little more buck riveting done yesterday along with patching a few holes that the outriggers put thru the outer skin and damage from a rear street side blow out. Thanks to help from my friends Aron and Kenny P!

Yep, but I still manage to bang myself up pretty good! My accident protocol usually centers around Hydrogen Peroxide and Crazy glue.

Today I got the curbside wheel well molding done. I got aluminum "J"molding from VTS, defiantly not as easy as it looks...

Hey Mark
Its not that big of a deal. make sure to clamp the molding to the frame as you are working. I didnt at first and almost broke the piece I was bending. I made a few small cuts on one end and put a slight bend in it. Start attaching as you go, heat (doesnt take long) and carefully bend into place. I used a rubber mallot to gently tap into place remember the metal will be hot , so wear gloves. If you have a small scrap piece I would practice heating and bending til you feel comfortable. I got some med vice grips from Harbor Freight that worked well. Let me know how it goes!

I just finished off the major work on my 1968 Globetrotter. I feel your pain. If you need any questions answered just give a shout out. I am up in Thousand Oaks, north of you. Did the undercarriage and repaired all the steel and POR'd . Good Luck!

Hey Marzboy,
That looks really good-you have to be proud of what you have accomplished. I have not seen that type of tool before. We have a hand riveter and an pneumatic riveter. What does this one do that is different from the ones we have? I am glad you are making such good progress and are willing to share here.

We have so many things to purchase to get this up and running but would like to save extra work if we have the right tools and the knowledge on how to use them.
